B.O.B. - Rational Unit

The muddiest point for me in this unit was by far the graphing. I’m not really sure why, but it was not enjoyable. I think that I freaked myself out because I really hated the rational unit whenever we did that in the past. At the beginning of the unit there was so much that was going on that it was hard to really remember it all. However, by the end of the unit it got a lot easier. The quiz really got me. It showed me the stuff I needed to study more, which I did. So hopefully that will show when we get the test grades back.

BOB Unit: Rational Functions

I enjoyed this unit. For some reason I like to solve equations and simplify them. But here is the thing, I don't think this skill will be used in the real world at all. I didn't really like graphing these rational functions though. They weren't hard, they just took a lot of time to do. I am interested in the next unit because I do not know much about the constant "e" and what it does or how it works. It is getting to that point of the trimester where its hard to recall all the units we have done. I am forgetting some of the methods that I have learned earlier. I can't even remember what the first unit was about.I am hoping that the exam is not as exact as the tests we take. If it is, I would like to make sure we take a couple of days to prepare ourselves for the final.

B.O.B.

I particularly enjoyed this past unit.   This may have been because the concepts seemed easier to understand than previous units.  Also it was a lot of factoring and dividing out which I think I may have done last year or the year before so it was still fresh in my head.  When it came to the graphs the hardest part for me was remembering which part of the fraction went with what rule.  I could never remember the V.A. and x-int but after taking time to memorize that it became nice and simple.  So all in all this unit was a nice review and break from the hard stuff.

BOB

The muddiest point on this past unit was graphing. I basically brought it upon myself however, given that I did apply myself enough to learn the material fully.  I think that if I would have put more time in to learning the material for graphing I would have understood it much more thoroughly and the ending result would be a lot better. I did not think the other material was that difficult, I felt that I had a good idea of how to complete the other problems pretty well.

Rational Functions

I thought that this unit would be scary because of my previous experiences with rational functions. When we learned about rational functions in middle school (or at least I think that's when we were introduced to them) , they did not make any sense at all. But in this unit everything was explained well and it seemed easy. The only part that I found somewhat confusing was finding the horizontal asymptote. Other than that, I would say that this unit went very smoothly for me.

B.O.B

As soon as we started this unit I was a little worried. For as long as I can remember I have been completely horrible at anything to do with fractions. And I mean everything! thoughout this unit I struggled a lot with the graphing. Then I came in early and as always it helped a lot. As it got closer to the test I realized I was not doing everything I was suposed to, to get the right answer. It was very frustrating and it took coming in early and really think through what i was doing. it turned out I was confusing different parts of the unit. For example I kept thinking you needed a common denominator for multiplication, which you don't. Also I realized I was doing a lot of the problems the hard way. It wasn't untill I stopped thinking so hard that I could actually do it right. It took a little longer than I would have liked but I think I have it down.

B.O.B. muddiest point

Looking behind this unit, I have seemed to not have one particular "muddy part" that stumps me every time. I have felt this unit was much nicer than the evil past ones. The only one type of problem that seems to be giving me a problem, is looking at an equation and graphing it. Solving for the x int., y int., and V.A. appear to not be such a challenge, but H.A. and making the sign chart somewhat seem to give me goosebumps. I know the basics on how to, but in the end I feel its just a guessing game. This unit rushed by so fast, I just wasn't sure if was doing them right and just second guessing myself, or just doing them wrong. In the end I just have to ask more questions, another weakness of mine.......
