B.O.B.

Dear Blogger Family,

I have thoroughly enjoyed the past unit regarding polynomials.  I will be honest, when I took the pre-test for this unit I had no idea how to factor expressions to a degree greater than two.  However, after many strenuous hours of studying, I came to take much delight in working with the different factoring methods and long division.  I have always enjoyed math, especially working on problems that require solving several times.  This may be the reason that I found such joy in working with long division.  I find myself in great elation when a problem requires me to solve for one solution, and then use that solution to solve for other solutions.  For example, on the Polynomial Test, when we were to find possible zeros using the Rational Zero Theorem, then divide a rational zero into the polynomial only to find that it needed to be divided again, and again, and again.  Although this problem took time, I enjoyed working through it and it left me feeling like I had accomplished some amazing feat.  This may not be a “muddiest point”, or “moment of clarity”, but it was certainly one of the more fascinating concepts that we have learned thus far.

Good Morning and Good Night,

Greg
